Williamson County Judge Steve Snell Welcomes Blue Origin to Hutto
GEORGETOWN, TX – Williamson County Judge Steve Snell today celebrated the announcement by Governor Greg Abbott and state and local leaders that Blue Origin Manufacturing LLC will build a new advanced manufacturing and operations campus in Hutto.
“Williamson County is thrilled to welcome Blue Origin to Hutto, and I want to congratulate Mayor Mike Snyder, City Council, City Staff and Hutto EDC on this historic achievement,” said Judge Snell. “This expansion will create thousands of high-paying jobs while making a significant investment in our students, schools, and future workforce—strengthening our community for generations to come. In addition, it will expand our commercial tax base, drive business for local contractors and suppliers, and create generational career pathways for our families—all while reinforcing our continued commitment to keeping local property taxes low.”
The expansion represents a $554,780,000 capital investment and is projected to create more than 2,000 new high-paying jobs in Williamson County to support Blue Origin's satellite communications network. To secure the project in competition with out-of-state locations, the State of Texas extended a Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) performance grant of $18,171,000, along with a $10,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.
Blue Origin’s expansion solidifies Hutto as a premier anchor point along the booming Highway 79 technology corridor and reinforces Williamson County's rising prominence in the advanced manufacturing and aerospace sectors.
Key highlights of the announcement include:
Significant Capital Investment: A direct private capital investment of nearly $555 million into the local economy, which will broaden the county’s tax base.
Job Creation: The creation of over 2,000 advanced manufacturing, technical, and engineering jobs with competitive wages and benefits.
Support for Veterans: A state Veteran Created Job Bonus, to support military personnel transitioning back to civilian life.
Benefits to Local Business: The campus will create substantial business opportunities for Williamson County suppliers, vendors, and local trade contractors.
